gourmet market in CPH

Torvehallerne is worth a stop if you are passing through Copenhagen. An all year round  market of its own, where ingredients and food culture are celebrated to the utmost. It took nearly 15 years to finalise the project, from the birth of its concept in 1997 by architect Hans Peter Hagens, who shared his dream of a food market in the central of Copenhagen in an article. Despite fundings and planning, the project went bankrupted in 2008, but succeeds its launch in September 2011.

Open 7 days a week, you can find delicious sandwiches, sushi, fish and chips, home made soaps and scrubs, hundreds of different kinds of liquorice and caramels, honey, sausages, breads.. you name it. Eat there or just browse and get inspired for you supper…

Their motto is ” It is not a supermarket, it is a Super Market” indeed it is…
