More Baking on the list of items to learn during the 24 days of training! Alfie likes the kitchen. It is always filled with people, the smells are mouthwatering. The heat sometimes unbearable. Today he was going to make his favourite cookie, and shape them into funny figures.

Here is the magical recipe.

You will need:

350 g flour
2 tsp baking powder
170 g brown sugar
2 tsp mixed spices (cinnamon, dried ginger, grounded cloves, nutmeg)
100 g soft butter
1 egg
100 g liquid honey or molasses

For the glazing :
1 egg white
200 g powder sugar

Preheat the oven at 160°C. Mix all dry ingredients. Add the butter, you can mix with your hands (kids would love it). The texture becomes like sand. Add the eggs and the honey. The dough must turn into a (sticky) ball. On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough out to 1/2 cm thickness. Cut into desired shapes with cookie cutters. Place cookies a bit apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes, until golden.

Let the cookies cool down before putting frosting on them.

For the frosting, mix the powder sugar with the egg white. Decorate with a little knife or a with a piping bag.

Eat or use as decoration on Christmas trees! Remember to make a hole in the dough before baking it!
