If you need to experiment with flavours and are in desperate need of ice-cream, then this recipe might interest you. It is made with very few ingredients, easy to prepare and tastes just fabulously!
1 kg fresh pineapple (or 2 cans of pine-apple in water)
100 grams sugar
lemon juice of 1 lemon
3 cm fresh ginger.
Use a juicer or a blender. I used a juicer which gives a smoother texture to the ice-cream.
In the juicer or blender add the pineapple in pieces and the ginger cut into smaller pieces.
Blend well. Extract the juices. Add lemon juice and sugar. Stir to make the sugar dissolve.
For a better aroma, place the mixed juices in the fridge for an hour before freezing.
Mix again then place in the freezer for at least 2 hours. I usually freeze my sorbet in individual glasses, it looks pretty and serves better.
Take out the sorbet 10 minutes before serving.
