Woke up this morning (Sunday!) and wanted to treat my kids with something new. They usually have their dad’s delicious pancakes (recipe to be followed) and I wanted to make something different. I remembered that a friend of mine had made sumptuous French toast one morning, and vupti, the ingredient were gathered on the main table.
You need (for 4 persons)
Bread (anything in slices) – i used wholewheat bread (trying to be healthy amid the comfort food)
1/2 cup milk (full fat is best)
cinammon, vanilla (i used 1/2 tsp of each)
1 tbsp butter
For a fluffy taste you can add 1 tbsp cornflour or regular flour to the egg mix (this is however optional, but to be receommended!)
how to make
mix eggs, milk, spices well.
place a slice of bread in the mix, let it soak for few seconds then turn and leave in the mix 10 seconds.
Melt the butter on a hot pan, place the soaked bread, fry both sides, 2 minutes each.
Serve with fresh berries, slices of banana, honey, maple syrup… let your fantasy be the cook!
